Mariano Mamertino, Economist

I currently work as an economist at the Burning Glass Institute, a think-tank active at the intersection of learning and work. My focus is on delivering economic research on jobs, education, and skills. I also regularly collaborate with educators, employers, and policymakers to test and implement research-driven solutions aimed at promoting mobility, opportunity, and equity in the labor market.

Before joining the non-profit sector, I had the opportunity to work as an economist and data scientist in big tech companies, and to do stints in academia and international organizations as well. I was the economist embedded in the Global Talent Intelligence team at Amazon, where I advised leaders on how to better prepare for and navigate labor market challenges. Before joining Amazon, I was the Lead EMEA Economist in LinkedIn's Economic Graph team, EMEA Economist at Indeed in Dublin, Research Fellow at Central European University in Budapest, and Junior Research Officer at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva. I hold a B.S. and a M.S. in Economics from Bocconi University.

Here you'll find some samples of my public-facing work, commentary and research.
